Most writers dream of having their work turned into stage and screen plays. I’m not like most… I want to change my plays into novels and short stories.
I recently completed the novel Poplar Grove Ladies Club based on the full-length play I wrote of the same name. The Poplar Grove Ladies Club was my first full length play. It was performed by the Dickson Store Museum in November 2012 and 2013. Writing the novel was great fun as I got to take the characters off the stage and out for coffee, car rides, and into a snow storm.
My publications include the 2004 CBC Anthology and Alexandra Reader 25th Anniversary Anthology. My novella Middle of Nowhere was shortlisted for the 2009 Ken Klonsky competition. The paranormal murder-mystery Murder By the Book was part of the C.A.T. (Central Alberta Theatre) June 2013 one-act play festival. This play was also performed in England by the Garboldisham Amateur Dramatic Society.
