WENDY SAYS – Nonfiction is one of the only things I know of that is defined by what it is not, rather than what is is. This workshop will attempt to define what it is rather than what it isn’t. And will hope to encourage participants how to go about writing and selling this genre of romance.
ABOUT WENDY: Original member of ARWA. Finalist and Semi Finalist in RWA with two fiction novels. Due to our family commercial embroidery business, I started writing a bi-monthly column on embroidery for Stitches Magazine (USA) and realized the lure of non-fiction. After becoming associated with Husqvarna Sweden, all my writing became nonfiction, self-publishing books on creating embroidery for machines both commercially and on home machines. My last nonfiction was an interactive CD.
I spent most of three years teaching seminars around the world on the subject and after being inducted into the Embroiderers’ Hall of Fame, decided to retire. Since then I have written four family histories (440 pages each) which require incredible amounts of research, two Costa Rican flower and fauna books, a couple of travel books, and finally converting two blogs from online to books.
Now I hope to think about fiction again.
